Pedodontics is a science that examines the teeth and jaw structure of children between 0-13 years old and intervenes in problematic situations seen in teeth and inside the mouth. Pedodontics, which is a science branch that provides a healthy development of mouth, jaw and face structure in infants and children up to 13 years of age, has developed different types of treatments in numerous different oral and dental issues .
Pedodontics comprise treatment types only for children. These treatments have been developed with an eye to intervene particularly developmental period issues of children. In particular, bottle decay, congenital decay or filled situations in milk teeth and crowding in jaw and tooth structure are the most outstanding problems. Pain and jaw problems progress more rapidly in children compared to adults and their treatment processes can be more challenging. As such, parents should apply to the pediatrician after 1 year of age and have all their controls made. After 1 year of age, these controls should be generally repeated every 4 months.
